The photo in my profile was taken on Lobo Cancer Challenge day 2021. This was a special day because in honor of the challenge and the five year anniversary of David's cancer diagnosis--we hiked the infamous La Luz trail. We are tired in the picture and waiting for the Tram to take us down the mountain. My legs were jelly and I honestly wasn't sure I could get back up to get on the Tram! During the 11 mile hike straight up Sandia, I kept my mind focus on David's successful fight against cancer. I was and I am so thankful that he is healthy and I have the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center to thank. David's treatment was cutting edge. The Lobo Cancer Challenge helps fund the type of research that saved David's life. Everyone has been impacted by cancer and I think this event is so important.
Cancer killed my mother and I have two friends fighting the monster now. Please donate to my link. Everything I raise goes to research for head and neck cancers.
You are also welcome to join Team KOAT and raise money with all of us.

Join me in the 2022 Lobo Cancer Challenge! We are an incredible, active community that is passionate about fighting cancer. Won’t you help me in this fight?
Every single dollar helps me toward my fundraising goal. All of the funds raised by the Challengers – 100% – support cancer patient care, research, community outreach, or education and training at The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center in Albuquerque.
Participants are called Challengers because in addition to completing our own personal Challenge, we challenge cancer together in our efforts on September 24, 2022. Cancer affects us all, so we are “all in” to fight cancer together.
Every single dollar helps me toward my fundraising goal, and it stays right here to help people in our state.
