Let’s #UniteAgainstCancer!

I became involved in the Lobo Cancer Challenge through my incredible mom Marilee Petranovich who was a patient and huge supporter of the UNM Cancer Center. My mom was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive cancer in 2017. That diagnosis brought with it incredible fear and uncertainly, but the UNM Cancer Center gave us compassion and hope during one of the most challenging times of all of our lives. September 1, 2023 will mark 4 years since my mom passed away from cancer. While we still grieve and miss her dearly, we hope to embody the love, light, and optimism that made her the incredible person she was. In her honor we ride in the UNM Cancer Challenge to support the amazing doctors, nurses, and staff at the UNM Cancer Center as well all of the patients and families who seek hope within those doors. 

Every single dollar helps me toward my fundraising goal. All of the funds raised by the Challengers – 100% – support cancer patient care, research, community outreach, or education and training for medical professionals at The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center in Albuquerque.
