  • 25-mile ride tours Albuquerque’s Paseo del Bosque Trail along the Rio Grande.
  • 50-mile and 100-mile routes offer a challenging ride through the east Sandia Mountains.
  • All rides offer scenic, serene views.

25 mile ride

This ride offers cyclists an opportunity to enjoy some of the best views in the valley. The Paseo del Bosque Trail winds along the Rio Grande, with flat tree-lined terrain. It is downhill to the Trail and a climb upon return to the Stadium. Two rest stops will be provided to support riders.

Trail Courtesy

The Paseo del Bosque is a multi-use trail. You may encounter many different kinds of users. Expect to meet bicyclists, walkers, runners, people with wheelchairs, in-line skaters, equestrians, families with strollers, among others. Always remember that courtesy and caution are a part of having an enjoyable and safe experience on Open Space trails. 50 mile ride

This ride will take cyclists east out of town and up old route 66 toward Sandia Crest. Around mile 9, you will begin your climb into the East Mountains. There, rolling roads with juniper and pinon will greet riders and provide views of the magnificent open space.

100 mile ride

Initially following the same path as the 50 mile route, this route will challenge the experienced cyclist. Offering views of the valley and the Sandia mountains from rolling hills, the ride balances plenty of climbing in the first 70 miles with a generous downhill that brings you back into Albuquerque. Once back within city limits, flat roads lead to the finish at University Stadium.
