As some of you may know, Liz and the McGuire family received news of a devastating medical diagnosis recently. Cancer - a malignant tumor of the most aggressive type. This news came out of nowhere and turned our world upside down. Now however, six weeks after biopsy, diagnosis and surgery, the prognosis is good. A few rounds of radiation and they think Liz will be "out of the woods" and hopefully cancer free. To honor her courage and that of other people struggling to cope with similar issues I have elected to join a cancer fundraising event. The event I'm in is a fifty mile bicycle ride to raise funds for research and patient support.
Please see details below.
Liz and I THANK YOU ALL in advance for your support:
"Please join us in the Lobo Cancer Challenge. We are an incredible community of patients, riders, runners, walkers and virtual challengers who are passionate about fighting cancer.
Won’t you help us in this fight? Every single dollar helps us towards our fundraising goal, and it stays right here to help people in New Mexico.
ALL of the funds raised by the Challenge — 100% — support cancer patient care, research, community outreach, and education and training at The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Participants commit to bicycle rides or a 5K run/walk held on September 14, 2019. Cancer affects us all, so we are “all in” to fight cancer together.
