Join me and the CaC Pack in the Lobo Cancer Challenge. We are a team representing the Cancer Control Program consisting of riders, runners, walkers and virtual challengers. We are families, friends, neighbors, and colleagues who are passionate about fighting cancer. We've got infants in strollers and serious cyclists, young, old, and many middle aged - join us as a team member or donate to the cause! The CaC Pack invites you to fight cancer together.
On September 14th, I will run the 5k with Ryan, Heidi and Allie (in her stroller, of course). We are participating in the Lobo Challenge as a family because we care deeply about improving the lives of cancer patients in our community. In my research with cancer survivors in New Mexico, I have found that about 80% of cancer survivors in our community report making financial sacrifices and 36% do not have the resources to purchase food.
Financial hardship and food insecurity do not need to be the norm for cancer survivors in New Mexico. ALL of the funds raised by the Challenge — 100% — support cancer patient care, research, community outreach, and education and training at The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center.
I truly appreciate your support!
